Stressed? Maybe Nature’s to Blame…

Are you feeling stressed out? Do you live in disarray? Is your job demanding? According to an article posted on Yahoo!, written by Maurna Desmond from Forbes.com, the city in which you live may actually be the underlying factor for the level of stress you experience.

Several factors were taken into consideration in understanding what creates this stress. Unemployment rate, housing affordability, quality of air, population density, and cost of living were some of the factors in calculating the most stressful cities in America.

10) Philadelphia, PA
9) Providence, RI
8 ) Salt Lake City, UT
7) Cleveland, OH
6) San Diego, CA
5) San Francisco, CA
4) Los Angeles, CA
3) Detroit, MI
2) New York, NY
1) Chicago, IL

I’m surprised that Chicago is ranked as the most stressful city to live in currently. Being a Midwesterner, I feel that there’s a stereotype that we’re hard workers, but also more easy-going than New Yorkers, for sure! Chicago is definitely a major metropolitan area, and similar to New York in many ways. So maybe not as surprising…

I found this article very interesting in how each ranking was determined, and I think that you may as well. To read more about the stressful factors in these cities, visit http://realestate.yahoo.com/promo/americas-most-stressful-cities.html.
